Afraid of bears - Björnfrossa - Angst vor Bären

Do you know somebody who is afraid of bears? Someone who does not pick blueberries any more because somebody has seen a bear recently?
More and more people feel fright for bears. This hinders the experience of pure nature, like picking berries and mushrooms, watching birds and wildlife, etc

These feelings can be buried deep in our human nature, that helped us to survive in a time when we still lived in caves, but also have their origin in our modern society, where newspapers and television have lots of influence on the view to our environment.

When you feel uncomfortable because you know there are wildlife bears around, please let us know!
We can help you!

We are underway to design a seminar about Björnfrossa - the swedish word for Fright for bears. The seminar will include information on how our protection mechanism fear works, information about the bear including biological, cultural and research aspects. Our aim is that you can handle the feelings we have to deal with when we are out in the wild forests on our own.

This seminar will take place in Orsa - Dalarna, Friday to Sunday in groups from 6 to 10 people and will be in swedish language.
