The title picture of our web site is taken from the book L'ours brun by Pascal Etienne and Jean Lauzet. The book describes the ecology of the brown bears in Europe and is (at this moment) only available in french language. The picture is located on page 49. We use it with the friendly permission of the photographer Pascal Etienne. When you are interested in the book you can take a closer look at it after one of our excursions and you have the opportunity to buy it on the spot. If you want to use it for preparational reading, you can surely fnd it anywhere by

Pictures

All other pictures are taken from the private archive of Andrea Friebe. There may be copyrights by the Scandinavian Brown Bear Research Project when the pictures were taken during field work.

The background picture is taken in Värmderåsen, a very small protected forest area  in the middle of Orsa Finnmark. Here you find  the probably oldest pine trees of Sweden.
